Mvix pricing at a glance
We read mvix.com/pricing in October 2026. The page shows three player tiers, each a one-time cost per screen, with the cloud CMS licensed perpetually at no charge when you use Mvix players. Software review directories such as Capterra and GetApp still list Core at 350 USD, which is out of date.
| Tier | One-time price per screen | Template zones | What the tier adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | 450 USD | 2 | Cloud CMS, unlimited users, storage and bandwidth, tags, offline playback, standard email and phone support |
| Standard | 550 USD | 6 | Everything in Core, plus the template gallery, RSS feeds and Canva integration |
| Pro | 750 USD | 10 | Everything in Standard, plus analytics dashboards and social media apps |
| Signature 360 | Quoted | Lifetime warranty, new players every three years, proof of play reports, offline notifications, priority support | |
| Select Suite | Quoted per account | Single sign-on, two factor authentication, emergency and IPAWS alerts, video walls, Power BI and Tableau displays, touch kiosk |
The template zone count is the practical difference between the tiers. Two zones fit a full screen image with a ticker. A menu with a sidebar, a clock and a feed needs Standard or Pro.
What Mvix costs for 10 and 25 screens
Player cost only, one-time, at the published tier prices. Installation, mounts and the quoted add-ons are not included.
| Screens | Core | Standard | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 450 USD | 550 USD | 750 USD |
| 10 | 4,500 USD | 5,500 USD | 7,500 USD |
| 25 | 11,250 USD | 13,750 USD | 18,750 USD |
| 50 | 22,500 USD | 27,500 USD | 37,500 USD |
The model is capital expense instead of subscription. That suits a buyer whose budget has a one-off equipment line and no room for a monthly software line, and it is why Mvix is common in universities and public sector projects. It also means the whole cost lands in year one, and a player that fails outside its warranty is a new 450 to 750 USD purchase.
What the free software does not include
Mvix describes its software as free but not open source: it is free when it runs on an Mvix player. Four costs sit outside the tier price.
1. Proof of play. Playback reports are listed under the Signature 360 program, not in Core, Standard or Pro. If an advertiser, a franchisor or a compliance team needs to know what each screen showed, price Signature 360 before comparing.
2. Enterprise access and alerts. Single sign-on, two factor authentication and emergency alert feeds are in the Select Suite, priced per account on request. An IT department that requires SSO is buying a quote, not a 450 USD tier.
3. Software on players you already own. Mvix's software runs on BrightSign, Android, Raspberry Pi and Samsung Tizen players, but on third-party hardware it is not free. Mvix lists a one-time license for BrightSign players and describes a low recurring fee for others, and asks you to call for software-only pricing.
4. Services. Installation, content design, implementation and managed services are sold separately. One Capterra reviewer reported paying over 100 USD a month for a single Microsoft integration.
When finance asks how the one-time player invoice and the monthly service lines fit together, an expense management tool that categorizes each receipt keeps the equipment and the subscriptions in the right buckets without a spreadsheet at month end.
Mvix one-time cost compared with a subscription
Ten screens, software and players, three and five years. Mvix uses the published one-time player price; the subscription platforms use yearly rates on their own pricing pages, read in September and October 2026. Displayer runs in the browser of a TV you own, so no player is counted.
| Platform and tier | Year one | Three years | Five years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mvix Core, one-time | 4,500 USD | 4,500 USD | 4,500 USD |
| Mvix Pro, one-time | 7,500 USD | 7,500 USD | 7,500 USD |
| Displayer Essential, 9 USD yearly rate | 1,080 USD | 3,240 USD | 5,400 USD |
| Displayer Professional, 14 USD yearly rate | 1,680 USD | 5,040 USD | 8,400 USD |
The honest reading: over five years, Mvix Core is the cheapest way to run ten basic screens, as long as the players last and you never need proof of play or SSO. Displayer is cheaper for the first four years on Essential, costs nothing up front, and includes screenshots of what each screen showed on Professional, which on Mvix sits inside a quoted program. If your TVs need a player anyway, add 30 to 100 USD per screen for an Android stick or Chrome device to the Displayer rows.
Does Mvix have proof of play?
Yes, but not in the standard tiers. Proof of play reports are listed in the Signature 360 program, alongside the lifetime warranty and offline notifications, and Mvix quotes it per network. Ask for the report format in the demo: whether it records what was scheduled or what the screen actually rendered.
Displayer's proof of play keeps a play record for each screen and, on Professional at 14 USD per screen on the yearly rate, stores timestamped screenshots of the rendered screen next to it, exportable as CSV with the images.
When Mvix is the right buy, and when it is not
Buy Mvix when the budget is a one-time equipment line, when the screens run a stable loop for five years or more, and when you want a purpose-built player with offline playback in every screen. Universities and campuses with a capital project are the typical fit.
Look elsewhere when you would rather not buy a 450 to 750 USD box for TVs that already have a browser, when your network needs proof of play or SSO without a quote, or when you add and move screens often. Displayer costs from 9 USD per screen a month on the yearly rate with a three screen minimum, includes unlimited team members, and lets you cancel the screens you stop using. If your current players are BrightSign, our BrightSign pricing guide compares that hardware route in the same format.
How much does Mvix digital signage cost?
Mvix charges a one-time price per media player, with the cloud software included: 450 USD on Core, 550 USD on Standard and 750 USD on Pro, per mvix.com in October 2026. There is no monthly software fee on Mvix players. Signature 360 and the Select Suite are quoted separately.
Is Mvix software really free?
Free on Mvix players. The cloud CMS is licensed perpetually when you buy an Mvix player, but it is not open source, and on third-party players such as BrightSign, Android or Samsung Tizen Mvix charges a software license. Proof of play, SSO and emergency alerts sit in quoted add-ons.
Does Mvix charge a monthly fee?
Not for the software on Mvix players. The tiers are one-time purchases with no subscription or contract. Monthly or recurring charges can come from the Signature 360 program, the Select Suite, managed services, some integrations and software licenses on third-party players.
What is the difference between Mvix Core, Standard and Pro?
The number of template zones and the content apps. Core has 2 zones and the basic CMS, Standard has 6 zones plus the template gallery, RSS and Canva, and Pro has 10 zones plus analytics dashboards and social media apps. All three include unlimited users and storage.
Can I use Mvix software with my own player?
Yes. Mvix lists BrightSign, Android, Raspberry Pi and Samsung Tizen as compatible, but software on third-party hardware is a paid license rather than free. Mvix publishes a one-time BrightSign license and quotes the others by phone.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Mvix?
For the first few years, yes. Displayer Essential at 9 USD per screen on the yearly rate costs 3,240 USD for ten screens over three years against 4,500 USD for Mvix Core players, with nothing up front. Over five years and more, Mvix Core is cheaper if the players last and you need no add-ons.
How long do Mvix players last?
Mvix sells the Signature 360 program with new players every three years and a lifetime warranty, which suggests three years is the planned refresh cycle on enterprise networks. Outside that program, check the warranty term on your order, because a replacement player is a new tier purchase.
Price three screens before you buy ten players
Pair three TVs you already own, run your real loop for a week with screenshots of what played, and put the yearly total next to the Mvix player quote before you commit the equipment budget.
