Build one location's screen before you compare quotes
Type a business name and three notices, and the builder renders a working screen in your browser with the weekly schedule behind it. No account and no player to buy, so you can test the content you would run in every store, clinic or branch.
What multi location signage needs that a single screen does not
A single café can run any of these tools. Ten or fifty sites is a different job, and four requirements decide the shortlist.
- Roles by location. A franchisee or branch manager edits their own screens and nothing else. Without roles, either head office types every change or one wrong click reaches every site.
- Approvals. Local edits go live after someone at head office signs off, which protects pricing, legal wording and brand.
- Groups and targeting. One campaign scheduled against a tag such as region or brand, instead of copied screen by screen.
- A record of what ran. Franchisors, property managers and healthcare groups need to show a notice played in every location, not just that it was scheduled.
Best digital signage software for multiple locations compared
Prices are US list prices per screen read from each vendor's pricing page in October 2026, at the yearly rate unless stated. The 25 screen column is software only, per year, on the plan that includes reporting.
| Platform | Plan with reporting | Per screen per month, yearly | 25 screens a year | Roles and approvals | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kitcast | Pro | 10 USD | 3,000 USD | SAML on Pro | Apple TV screens |
| OptiSigns | Pro | 11.25 USD | 3,375 USD | Approvals and proof of play on Pro | Lowest price with approvals |
| Yodeck | Premium | 12 USD | 3,600 USD | Unlimited users on every plan | Lowest price per screen with reports |
| Displayer | Professional | 14 USD | 4,200 USD | Unlimited team members, roles and approvals | Existing TVs, screenshot proof of play |
| XOGO | Pro | About 15 USD paid annually | 4,500 USD | Limited | A few simple screens |
| TelemetryTV | Elite | 16 USD | 4,800 USD | Yes | IT dashboards |
| ScreenCloud | Pro | 30 USD | 9,000 USD | Yes | Teams that already run it |
| Fugo | Core | 30 USD | 9,000 USD | Yes | Power BI and Looker dashboards |
Monthly billing runs higher. ScreenCloud Pro is about 10,800 USD a year paid monthly for 25 screens, and Displayer Professional is 29 USD a screen monthly. If your site count changes through the year, read the term rules before the rate. TelemetryTV Elite is annual only with a 10 device minimum, and XOGO's standard license is 12 months.
Best for a chain with local managers
Look at OptiSigns Pro, Yodeck Premium and Displayer Professional. All three give location managers their own access, and the price gap between them is under 1,000 USD a year at 25 screens. Pick on the player. Yodeck is designed around its own player, which suits you if you are buying screens fresh. OptiSigns and Displayer run on hardware you already have, and Displayer needs no box on a recent smart TV. Our Yodeck alternative and OptiSigns alternative pages put the three side by side.
Best for franchises that must prove compliance
Choose a platform whose reporting is more than a play log. OptiSigns and Yodeck export a CSV of what played and when. Displayer Professional adds periodic, timestamped screenshots of what the screen rendered, so a franchisor can show a promotion ran in a given store in a given week. The record is described on the proof of play page, and the retail setup is on digital signage for retail.
Best for large enterprises with a security review
You need single sign-on, an audit log and a named SLA before procurement signs. Kitcast Pro includes SAML at 10 USD. Displayer Network is 24 USD a screen yearly and adds SAML, an audit log, API access and priority support, 7,200 USD for 25 screens. The enterprise plan page lists what the review usually asks for. Appspace and Poppulo sell by quote and suit companies that want signage inside a wider workplace platform, which our Poppulo alternative page compares.
Best for a handful of simple screens
If you have fewer than ten sites and no need for a record, the cheapest option wins. XOGO has a free plan for one player, and month to month it undercuts Displayer. Yodeck Basic at 8 USD is the lowest paid rate in the table. There is no reason to pay for approvals nobody will use.
How to choose in four checks
1. Count who edits. If more than five people publish, a tool that charges per user or lacks roles gets expensive or risky.
2. Check the screens. Smart TVs can run browser based platforms with no box. Older displays need a 30 to 100 USD device. Vendors that sell a proprietary player add 70 to 250 USD per screen.
3. Add up year one. Software, players, and any setup. The table shows software only.
4. Read the exit. Note the term, the cancellation notice and whether removing screens takes effect before renewal.
If your screens show web dashboards, put the dashboard addresses behind an uptime monitor so a broken page is caught before a store manager phones in.
What is the best digital signage software for multiple locations?
It depends on the screens and the controls you need. For roles, approvals and a play record, OptiSigns Pro, Yodeck Premium and Displayer Professional cost 3,375 to 4,200 USD a year for 25 screens. Add SAML and an audit log with Displayer Network at 7,200 USD.
How much does digital signage software cost per location?
A location with three screens costs about 360 to 540 USD a year on the mid priced platforms at yearly rates, and 1,080 USD on ScreenCloud Pro. Players and displays are extra, and ten locations of three screens means 30 screens.
Can each location manage its own screens?
Yes on platforms with roles. Yodeck allows unlimited users on every plan, OptiSigns includes users on each tier, and Displayer Professional has unlimited team members with roles and approvals so head office can review local changes before they go live.
Do I need special hardware for each location?
Not always. A recent smart TV can run Displayer in its browser, and older screens work with a 30 to 100 USD Android, Chrome or Windows device. Some vendors require their own player at about 70 to 250 USD per screen.
Is there a cheaper way to run digital signage across many sites?
Yes. Pay the yearly rate, which runs about 17 to 50 percent below monthly pricing, reuse the TVs and sticks you own, and choose a plan with only the reporting you need. Kitcast Pro, OptiSigns Pro and Yodeck Premium are the lowest for 25 screens.
How do I prove content played at every location?
Use a plan that records playback. Displayer Professional keeps a play record plus timestamped screenshots, while OptiSigns Pro and Yodeck Premium provide play logs. Screenshots matter when a franchisor or tenant disputes whether a notice ran.
Test your locations on three screens
Pair three screens you already own, run the content from one location for a week, and put the yearly total next to your current quote.
