Poppulo alternative for office digital signage priced per screen

The usual Poppulo alternative is a per screen signage platform for companies that need lobby, break room and floor screens but not the email, employee app and advocacy products Poppulo sells with them. Poppulo publishes no prices and sends every product line to sales, with buyers reporting about 20 to 30 USD per screen per month. Displayer Professional is 14 USD a screen on the yearly rate, 4,200 USD a year for 25 screens, and Network adds SAML single sign-on and an audit log at 24 USD. Poppulo is the better buy when internal communications is the real project, and we say so below.

Build one of your office screens before the Poppulo renewal

Type your company name and three notices, and the builder renders a working lobby or break room screen in your browser with the weekly schedule behind it. No account and no player to buy, so you can hold a real screen and a per screen price next to your Poppulo quote.

Weekly schedule
  • Venue: restaurant, retail store, clinic, gym, office, school, plant floor, church, senior living or real estate office
  • Orientation: landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16
  • Layout: full bleed, main plus sidebar, or a menu board in three columns
  • Content: your business name and three short lines, prefilled for the venue you picked

The schedule strip underneath shows the same playlist placed on a weekly grid, which is exactly what the schedule view does inside the product.

Why teams look for a Poppulo alternative

Most buyers who leave Poppulo have nothing against the product. They hit one of three limits when the job is screens only.

Facilities lead comparing a digital signage quote and license terms at a desk before a renewal

The first is the price list that does not exist. Every Poppulo product line on its pricing page ends in a talk to sales button, so an IT or facilities lead cannot compare 40 screens against anything without a procurement cycle. One US university charges its departments 250 USD a year per content player for its Poppulo service, and independent cost guides place enterprise platforms at 20 to 30 USD or more per screen per month.

The second is the bundle. Poppulo came from the 2021 merger of Four Winds Interactive and Poppulo, and its signage is usually one line inside a wider internal communications deal. If your comms team does not send employee email or run the app, you pay for a platform you use a fifth of.

The third is the player. Poppulo runs on Windows, Android and BrightSign players, and its own Harmony player is specified at a Windows 10 LTSC computer with an 11th generation Core i3. That is a computer or box per screen, plus the service work to install it.

Poppulo alternatives compared

Per screen figures are US list prices read from each vendor in October 2026, yearly rates unless stated. Poppulo and Appspace publish no dollar rates, so their lines are reported or estimated.

Reading that table honestly

Poppulo wins when one team writes a message once and sends it to inboxes, phones and screens, needs emergency alerts across every channel, and wants room booking and wayfinding on the same contract. Displayer has no email or employee app, no meeting room booking and no Microsoft 365 integration, so if those are on your list, stay with Poppulo or look at Appspace.

It loses when the job is screens. A facilities or IT lead with 10 to 60 displays needs schedules, templates, a few editors per site, single sign-on and a record of what ran, and pays for that per screen without a sales cycle. The Poppulo breakdown is in the Poppulo pricing guide and the Appspace one in the Appspace pricing guide.

What a Poppulo replacement costs at 10 and 25 screens

Software per year, players shown separately.

Poppulo

10 screens is roughly 2,400 to 3,600 USD a year at the reported 20 to 30 USD per screen per month, and 25 screens is 6,000 to 9,000 USD. Professional services, players and other Poppulo products are quoted on top.

TelemetryTV Elite

10 screens at 16 USD is 1,920 USD a year and 25 screens is 4,800 USD, annual only with a 10 device minimum. See the TelemetryTV alternative page for the terms.

Displayer Professional and Network

Professional at 14 USD yearly is 1,680 USD for 10 screens and 4,200 USD for 25, with unlimited team members, roles and approvals, groups by location and proof of play with timestamped screenshots. Network at 24 USD yearly is 2,880 USD for 10 and 7,200 USD for 25, and adds SAML single sign-on, an audit log and API access. Month to month, Professional is 29 USD a screen. Every plan is on the pricing page.

How to move from Poppulo without a dark lobby

1. Find the term and the notice date. Enterprise quotes are usually annual or multi-year. Note when the license ends and what the cancellation window is, and set a reminder ten weeks ahead.

2. List what each screen shows. Separate plain signage content (notices, schedules, dashboards, welcome screens) from anything tied to Poppulo email or the app. Only the first group moves.

3. Export your media. Download images and videos from the Poppulo library. Playlists are rebuilt from the source files, about an hour per site.

4. Check what each screen can play. Displayer runs in the browser of a recent smart TV or on a Chrome, Android or Windows device. Our digital signage player page lists what works.

5. Pair one screen first. Run the real loop for a week while Poppulo keeps running everywhere else.

6. Set roles and sign-on before launch. Give each site manager their own screens and, on Network, connect SAML so access follows your directory.

7. Retire the players last. Windows players can usually be reused as Displayer devices.

What proof of play looks like on Displayer

On Professional and above, Displayer keeps the play record for every screen and stores periodic, timestamped screenshots of what the screen rendered. A facilities team can show that a safety notice ran on every floor for a week, and a property manager can show a tenant that the lobby carried their message. The details are on the proof of play page, and the workplace setup is on our office digital signage software page.

Which Poppulo alternative to pick

Stay on Poppulo when

Internal communications is the project, your comms team sends to email, the app and screens from one plan, and you need room booking and wayfinding on the same contract.

Choose Appspace when

Room booking and workspace tools matter as much as signage and you accept a quote and a bundle.

Choose TelemetryTV when

Your screens show IT dashboards and you accept an annual term and a 10 device minimum.

Choose Displayer when

The job is screens in offices and lobbies, you want a published per screen price, the TVs are already on the walls, and you must show what each one displayed.

What is the best alternative to Poppulo?

It depends on what you use. For signage only, a per screen platform costs less and starts without a sales cycle: Displayer Professional is 4,200 USD a year for 25 screens, TelemetryTV Elite 4,800 USD. If you rely on Poppulo email and the app, Appspace is closer.

How much does Poppulo cost?

Poppulo publishes no prices and sends every product line to sales. Independent guides place enterprise platforms like it at 20 to 30 USD or more per screen per month, so 25 screens run about 6,000 to 9,000 USD a year before services and players.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Poppulo?

For screens only, yes. Displayer Professional at 14 USD a screen on the yearly rate comes to 4,200 USD for 25 screens, below the estimated Poppulo range. Network at 24 USD adds SAML single sign-on and is still below the top of that range.

Can I use my Poppulo players with another platform?

Often. Windows PCs and many Android devices can run another platform in a browser or app, so plan to reuse them. BrightSign players run their own software, so check what the new platform supports before you commit.

Does Displayer replace Poppulo email and the employee app?

No. Displayer is signage only, with no email, employee app, meeting room booking or Microsoft 365 integration. If those are in use today, keep Poppulo for them and move only the screens, or stay with the full platform.

Does Displayer support single sign-on?

Yes, on the Network plan at 24 USD a screen yearly, with SAML sign-on, an audit log and API access. Professional uses email sign-in with roles and approvals but no SSO.

How long does it take to switch from Poppulo?

About an hour of media export and rebuild per site, then a week of running one screen in parallel. Start ten weeks before the license ends so the notice window is not missed.
