Digital signage software for smart TV screens you own
The cheapest screen in any network is the one that is already on the wall. If the TV has a browser, it can be a player with nothing plugged into it.
How pairing works on a TV
Open the browser on the TV, go to the pairing URL, and type the six digits it shows into the panel. The TV downloads the schedule and starts playing. Set the TV to open the browser on the same page at power on, and the screen looks after itself.
Build the screen your smart TV will show, right here
The screen builder below renders what a smart TV plays once its browser opens the Displayer URL. Pick a venue, a layout and an orientation, type three lines, and watch the loop run with its live clock and ticker.
Venue
Orientation
Layout
- Venue: restaurant, retail store, clinic, gym, office or school
- Orientation: landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16
- Layout: full bleed, main plus sidebar, or a menu board in three columns
- Content: your business name and three short lines, prefilled for the venue you picked
The schedule strip underneath shows the same playlist placed on a weekly grid, which is exactly what the schedule view does inside the product.
What to expect by brand
| TV | Usually works | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung, recent models | Yes, through the built-in browser | Auto start on power on, and a hotel or business mode if the set has one |
| LG, recent models | Yes, through the built-in browser | Screen saver and energy saving settings must be off |
| Sony and Android TV | Yes, through Chrome on the set | Notifications and system dialogs turned off |
| Older smart TVs | Sometimes, with a weak browser | A cheap Android stick is faster and more reliable |
| Commercial panels | Yes, and they are built for long hours | Portrait mounting and higher brightness, which matters near a window |
If the browser on a set is slow or cannot auto start, do not fight it. A small Android or Chrome device behind the panel costs less than one visit to the site.
TV settings that matter
- Turn off the screen saver, energy saving and automatic power down
- Set the input and the browser page to open at power on
- Fix the picture mode, because a dynamic mode can wash out brand colour
- Turn off overscan, so the edge of your layout is not cut off
- Set portrait in the panel if the TV is mounted vertically, and confirm the layout renders at 9:16
What it costs
Billed per active screen, whatever drives it: 19 USD on Essential, 29 USD on Professional with groups, dayparts and proof of play, 49 USD on Network with single sign-on. The TV is yours. See the pricing page.
Will a consumer TV survive running all day
Many do, but a consumer set is built for a few hours a day. Above eight hours, or anywhere near a window, a commercial panel lasts longer and stays brighter.
Can I use one TV for two areas
No. A screen shows one schedule at a time, and a screen is what billing counts. Two areas want two screens.
What if the TV browser cannot open on start
Use a small Android or Chrome device. Pairing and everything else is identical, and the panel does not care which route a screen arrives by.
Use the TV that is already on the wall
Open the pairing URL on it, type six digits, and start scheduling. If the browser disappoints, add a stick and carry on.
