Screenly pricing at a glance
All software prices below were read on Screenly's pricing page in September 2026 and are per screen per month on the yearly rate. Screenly shows the yearly rate by default. Monthly billing costs more; third-party comparison sites report about 16.90 USD for Starter and 26.60 USD for Business, which Screenly's page does not print, so treat those two as reported rather than published.
| Plan | Per screen, yearly rate | Screens | What the tier adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 15 USD a month | 1 to 5 | Up to 2 users, 1080p, unlimited playlists and storage, API, offline caching |
| Business | 24 USD a month | 5 minimum, no cap | Unlimited users, custom permissions, 4K, a dedicated account manager |
| Enterprise | 38 USD a month, yearly only | 25 minimum | SSO with SAML, audit logs, priority support SLA, linked workspaces, consolidated invoicing, 5 hours of implementation and 5 hours of training a year |
Every plan starts with a 14 day free trial that needs no card. Screenly takes cards or invoices, you can cancel from the billing page, and deployments above 25 screens can ask for volume discounts and custom contracts.
What each Screenly plan is really for
Starter is a small-business plan in the literal sense. The 5 screen cap and the 2 user limit mean that once a second location or a third person who edits content joins, you are on Business.
Business is where most paying accounts land. It is the first tier with 4K output and unlimited users, and it is the tier that makes per-location permissions workable. The 5 screen minimum means a 3 screen office still pays for 5, which is 1,440 USD a year.
Enterprise is a governance tier. SSO, audit logs and consolidated invoicing are the reasons to buy it, and the 25 screen floor means the smallest Enterprise order is 11,400 USD a year. If your IT policy requires SAML sign-in for every SaaS tool, this is the only Screenly plan that clears it. Teams under 25 screens that need SSO can compare the options on our Screenly alternative page.
Screenly player cost, and when you need one
Screenly sells its own hardware, and it is optional. The prices on Screenly's store in September 2026 were:
| Device | Price | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Screenly Player | 219 USD | Raspberry Pi based, 1080p, suited to 1 to 3 screen setups |
| Five Screenly Players | 985 USD, listed down from 1,095 USD | The same player in a five-pack |
| Screenly Player Max Mk3 | 699 USD | Intel Core 3, 16 GB memory, 500 GB storage, 4K, assembled in the US |
You can skip the box. Screenly's player software also runs on Android devices, ChromeOS and ChromeOS Flex, Samsung Tizen displays, the Amazon Signage Stick and other HTML5 devices. The hardware line is therefore a choice about reliability and support, not a requirement. Each device still needs its own software license either way.
What Screenly costs for 5, 25 and 100 screens
Software on the yearly rate, plus Screenly Players bought in five-packs for anyone who wants Screenly hardware behind every screen.
| Screens and plan | Software per year | Players, one-time | 3 year total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 on Starter | 900 USD | 985 USD | 3,685 USD |
| 25 on Business | 7,200 USD | 4,925 USD | 26,525 USD |
| 25 on Enterprise | 11,400 USD | 4,925 USD | 39,125 USD |
| 100 on Business | 28,800 USD | 19,700 USD | 106,100 USD |
Year one is the software line plus the players: 12,125 USD for 25 screens on Business, for example.
At 100 screens you are well past the 25 screen line where Screenly offers volume pricing, so the real figure should come in lower. The table is the list price to negotiate down from. Swap in the Player Max for 4K and the hardware line more than triples.
Does Screenly have proof of play
Screenly requests a screenshot from each player roughly every five minutes and shows it on the Screens page and the screen details page, so you can see what a screen is displaying right now without walking over to it. That is a genuinely useful live check, and not every platform in this price band offers it.
The question to ask during the trial is whether you need a live view or a stored record. If a franchisor, advertiser or auditor asks what a screen showed on a specific day last month, you need a history of what played, per screen, that you can export. Displayer's proof of play keeps a play record and stores periodic, timestamped screenshots alongside it on the Professional plan, exportable as CSV for a campaign report. Test Screenly's reporting against the exact request you expect to receive before you commit to a year.
The costs that sit outside the per-screen rate
- The screen minimum. Business bills at least 5 screens and Enterprise at least 25, whether or not every screen is live.
- Monthly billing. Month to month costs roughly 11 to 13 percent more than the yearly rate on Starter and Business, based on the reported monthly figures.
- Hardware refresh. A Raspberry Pi based player is cheap to replace, but budget spares if you run many sites.
- The jump to Enterprise for SSO. Going from Business to Enterprise adds 14 USD per screen a month, 4,200 USD a year at 25 screens, largely for sign-in and audit features.
Enterprise is also where invoicing and custom billing live, which is how most larger buyers pay. If finance requires an approved PO before any annual software commitment, raise it through your purchase order software with the per-screen rate, the minimum and the renewal date written in, so the renewal does not arrive as a surprise twelve months later.
Screenly pricing compared with other platforms
Twenty five screens for one year, each vendor's yearly rate, software only.
| Platform and tier | Per screen, monthly equivalent | 25 screens, one year |
|---|---|---|
| Screenly Business | 24 USD | 7,200 USD |
| Screenly Enterprise | 38 USD | 11,400 USD |
| Yodeck Premium | 12 USD | 3,600 USD |
| OptiSigns Pro | 11.25 USD | 3,375 USD |
| ScreenCloud Pro | 30 USD | 9,000 USD |
| Displayer Professional | 14 USD | 4,200 USD |
| Displayer Network | 24 USD | 7,200 USD |
Screenly sits in the middle of the market. It is roughly twice the price of Yodeck and OptiSigns, below ScreenCloud Pro, and above Displayer on the yearly rate at both levels: at 25 screens Displayer Professional is 3,000 USD a year cheaper than Screenly Business, and Displayer Network is 4,200 USD a year cheaper than Screenly Enterprise. Our Yodeck pricing and ScreenCloud pricing guides break down those two in the same format.
When Screenly is the right buy, and when it is not
Screenly makes sense if security is a buying criterion, you want a vendor-supported player in a small box, and your screens are mostly dashboards and information displays that someone checks live. Its API on every plan is also useful if your screens take content from your own systems.
It is a harder fit if you run fewer than 5 screens with more than 2 editors, since that forces Business pricing on a small estate, or if your screens are spread across commercial locations and you need scheduled promotions, dayparts and a stored record of what each screen showed. Displayer runs on the displays and devices you already own, schedules every site from one panel by location tag, and bills per active screen from 9 USD on the yearly rate. The plans are on the pricing page.
How much does Screenly cost per screen
On the yearly rate Screenly Starter is 15 USD per screen a month for up to 5 screens, Business is 24 USD with a 5 screen minimum, and Enterprise is 38 USD with a 25 screen minimum, billed yearly only. Monthly billing is higher. Screenly Players are extra at 219 USD, or 699 USD for the 4K Player Max.
Is Screenly free
Screenly's cloud service is not free. It offers a 14 day free trial with no card required, then a paid plan per screen. A separate open source edition can be self-hosted on a Raspberry Pi, without the cloud management, support or business features of the paid plans.
Do I need a Screenly Player
No. Screenly runs on Android devices, ChromeOS, Samsung Tizen displays, the Amazon Signage Stick and other HTML5 devices, as well as its own players. Buying the Screenly Player at 219 USD gets you vendor-supported hardware, and each device needs its own software license either way.
What is the minimum number of screens on Screenly
Starter has no minimum and a cap of 5 screens. Business bills a minimum of 5 screens and Enterprise a minimum of 25 screens. A 3 screen office on Business therefore pays for 5 screens, about 1,440 USD a year on the yearly rate.
Does Screenly offer SSO
Yes, on Enterprise only. SAML single sign-on with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Google comes with Enterprise at 38 USD per screen a month, alongside audit logs and consolidated invoicing, with a 25 screen minimum.
Is Screenly cheaper than ScreenCloud
Yes at the comparable tier. Screenly Business is 24 USD per screen a month on the yearly rate against 30 USD for ScreenCloud Pro, so 25 screens cost about 7,200 USD a year on Screenly against 9,000 USD on ScreenCloud. ScreenCloud's entry Core plan is 20 USD.
Can I cancel Screenly at any time
Screenly says you can cancel your plan at any time from the billing page inside your account. On a yearly plan, check with Screenly how the remaining term is handled before you cancel, since the lower yearly rate is paid up front.
