ScreenCloud alternative for multi-site teams and ScreenCloud competitors compared on price per screen, SSO and proof of play

Most teams that look for a ScreenCloud alternative are not unhappy with the software. They are unhappy with the bill: 30 USD per screen per month on the annual rate for proof of play, single sign-on only on a quoted Enterprise plan with a reported 25-license floor, and seats you can add any time but only remove at renewal. The honest shortlist: Rise Vision if you want SSO and a published price, OptiSigns or Yodeck if cost per screen is the whole decision, and Displayer if what the screens showed has to be provable with a picture, at 14 USD per screen on the yearly rate.

Build a screen before you sit through another sales call

Type a venue name and three messages and the builder renders a working screen in your browser, with the weekly grid and dayparts behind it. No account, no device and no app to install. If you are pricing a move off ScreenCloud, this is the fastest way to see whether our scheduling model fits how your locations actually run.

  • Venue: restaurant, retail store, clinic, gym, office, school, plant floor, church, senior living or real estate office
  • Orientation: landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16
  • Layout: full bleed, main plus sidebar, or a menu board in three columns
  • Content: your business name and three short lines, prefilled for the venue you picked

The schedule strip underneath shows the same playlist placed on a weekly grid, which is exactly what the schedule view does inside the product.

Why people look for a ScreenCloud alternative

Three things come up again and again in reviews and in the renewal conversations that send people our way.

The first is price at scale. Core is 20 USD and Pro is 30 USD per screen per month on the annual rate, and ScreenCloud's pricing page does not publish a month-to-month rate at all. That is fair for a lobby and a break room. It stops feeling fair at forty screens across a dozen addresses, when the invoice passes 14,000 USD a year and most of those screens show a menu, a promo loop or a safety notice. Capterra reviewers put it plainly: the per-screen model adds up quickly as screen counts grow.

The second is where the enterprise features sit. Single sign-on is not on Core or Pro. It is on Enterprise, which ScreenCloud quotes rather than publishes and which third-party breakdowns report at a 25-license minimum. If your IT policy says every SaaS tool goes behind your identity provider, that one requirement decides your tier, and the realistic floor is around 12,000 USD a year before anyone has negotiated anything.

The third is contract shape. Screens can be added pro rata at any time, but removals only take effect at the next billing cycle, and annual terms need 30 days' notice. A network that closes two sites in March keeps paying for those screens until renewal.

Reading that table honestly

Every alternative in the table is cheaper than ScreenCloud Pro at the reporting tier, Displayer included, although Displayer is the most expensive of the four. If ScreenCloud's price is the only thing wrong, OptiSigns, Yodeck and Rise Vision all cost well under half. The more useful question is which of ScreenCloud's features you actually use, because that is what decides which alternative is a like-for-like move and which is a downgrade.

What each ScreenCloud alternative costs at 25 screens

Twenty five screens, one year of software, each vendor's annual rate. Where the reporting tier and the SSO tier differ, both are shown.

ScreenCloud Pro and Enterprise

Pro at 30 USD is 750 USD a month, 9,000 USD for the year, with a device included on the annual term. Decline the device and year one drops 17 percent to 7,470 USD. Enterprise, if SSO is required, is estimated around 40 USD per screen and reported at a 25-license minimum, so about 12,000 USD a year at the floor. Every rate and billing rule is in our ScreenCloud pricing breakdown.

Rise Vision Advanced and Enterprise

At the 11 to 69 display band, Advanced is 144 USD per display per year: 3,600 USD for 25 screens. Enterprise, which carries SAML single sign-on and a content approval workflow, is 170 USD per display per year: 4,250 USD. That is the cheapest published route to SSO on this page by a wide margin, and the full tier and volume breakdown is in our Rise Vision pricing guide.

OptiSigns Pro Plus

Most multi-site OptiSigns accounts land on Pro Plus at 13.50 USD yearly for the dashboards: 337.50 USD a month, 4,050 USD a year. Add-ons such as background music at 13.50 USD per screen yearly are billed on top. Tier detail is in the OptiSigns pricing guide.

Yodeck Premium

25 screens at 12 USD is 300 USD a month, 3,600 USD a year, with a 4 GB player shipped with each annual license. It is the cheapest route to a playback log with hardware in the box. See the Yodeck pricing guide.

Displayer Professional and Network

Professional at the 14 USD yearly rate is 350 USD a month, 4,200 USD a year, with unlimited team members and nothing to stack on top. That is 4,800 USD a year less than ScreenCloud Pro for the same 25 screens. Network, where SSO, SAML and the audit log live, is 24 USD yearly: 7,200 USD a year, with no 25-screen floor, so a 10-screen team can buy SSO without being pushed to 25 licenses. All plans are on the pricing page.

Match the alternative to the feature you are actually paying ScreenCloud for

You pay for SSO and IT approval

Rise Vision Enterprise publishes SAML SSO at 170 USD per display per year and holds a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation. For a security review that only needs single sign-on and a vendor with an audit report, it is the cheapest like-for-like move. Displayer Network adds SSO without a license floor, which matters more to a small team than a large one.

You pay for dashboards and integrations

ScreenCloud's app library and dashboard integrations are strong. OptiSigns has the largest library in this price band, with Power BI, Salesforce and Microsoft 365 on Pro Plus. If your screens are mostly live dashboards, OptiSigns is the closer match, and our OptiSigns alternative comparison covers where it falls short.

You pay for the player in the box

Yodeck ships a player with every annual license. If nobody at your sites can be trusted to plug in a stick and type a code, a bundled player is worth the trade-offs, and our Yodeck alternative page is honest about what those are.

You pay for proof of play

This is where Displayer is built to win. If someone outside your company, a franchisor, an advertiser, a landlord or an inspector, will ask what was on a screen at a given hour, a log line is a claim. A timestamped picture of the rendered screen is evidence.

Proof of play that answers the question from outside

ScreenCloud puts proof of play logs on Pro. OptiSigns puts them on Pro and Yodeck on Premium. Rise Vision reports displays online and offline and exports which displays received an emergency alert. All of these record what the player believed happened, which is enough for internal reporting.

They are weaker when the question comes from outside the building. A TV left on the wrong HDMI input, a web item failing behind a cached frame, a layout cropped by a resolution mismatch: the log says played in every case.

Displayer's proof of play keeps the same record and adds periodic, timestamped screenshots of the rendered screen stored alongside it. When a franchisee disputes a campaign, you send the line and the picture together. If nobody will ever ask you that, this is not a reason to switch, and one of the cheaper names in the table is the better buy.

Leaving ScreenCloud without replacing your hardware

ScreenCloud runs on devices you choose or on the player it bundles with an annual plan. Either way, the hardware on the wall is not locked to ScreenCloud, and you should rule out any alternative that insists on new boxes.

Displayer's digital signage player is a browser page. The Chrome device, smart TV browser, Fire TV or Windows mini PC already behind the screen can run it after a six-character pairing code is typed once. Nothing gets installed, and there is no app store account per platform to maintain. If a panel dies, you swap it and pair the new one in under a minute.

What is the best alternative to ScreenCloud

It depends on what you are paying ScreenCloud for. For single sign-on at a published price, Rise Vision Enterprise at 170 USD per display per year. For the lowest price per screen, OptiSigns or Yodeck at 8 to 16 USD. For multi-site scheduling and proof of play backed by screenshots of the rendered screen, Displayer at 14 USD per screen yearly.

Who are ScreenCloud's main competitors

OptiSigns, Yodeck and Rise Vision appear on most ScreenCloud shortlists, followed by Kitcast, CrownTV, TelemetryTV, Samsung MagicINFO and NoviSign, alongside Displayer. OptiSigns and Yodeck compete on price. Rise Vision competes for schools and organizations that need emergency alerts and SSO. CrownTV sells hardware, software and installation together.

Is OptiSigns better than ScreenCloud

OptiSigns is cheaper and has the larger app library: Pro with proof of play is 11.25 USD per screen yearly against ScreenCloud Pro at 30 USD. ScreenCloud is the stronger pick when an IT security review, audit logs and a named success manager are part of the purchase. For most small and mid-size networks, OptiSigns covers the same daily work for less.

Is there a cheaper alternative to ScreenCloud

Yes, several. Yodeck starts at 8 USD per screen, OptiSigns at 9 USD yearly and Rise Vision Basic at 119 USD per display per year, all below ScreenCloud Core at 20 USD. At the reporting tier, Displayer Professional at 14 USD yearly is also below ScreenCloud Pro at 30 USD.

Does ScreenCloud have a free plan

No. ScreenCloud offers a free trial on Core and Pro but no permanent free tier. OptiSigns has a free plan for up to three screens that shows its branding on the display, and Yodeck has one free screen. Displayer starts on a paid plan from three screens.

Can I cancel ScreenCloud before my renewal

Screen removals on ScreenCloud take effect at the next billing cycle, and annual terms need 30 days' notice before renewal. Invoice-billed customers get a 15-day refund window. Plan the switch around your renewal date, and give notice at least 30 days ahead so you are not billed for another year.

How do I switch from ScreenCloud to another platform

Move one location first, run both systems side by side for a week, then migrate the rest site by site before your renewal notice date. Media files re-upload in bulk, but playlists, schedules and screen groups do not transfer between vendors, so plan about an afternoon per site.

Is Displayer cheaper than ScreenCloud

Yes, at the tiers most multi-site teams buy. Displayer Professional is 14 USD per screen on the yearly rate against ScreenCloud Pro at 30 USD, and it includes proof of play with screenshots. Displayer Essential at 9 USD yearly is below ScreenCloud Core at 20 USD. ScreenCloud's annual plans include a device, Displayer's do not.

Move one location before your renewal notice

Put one site on Displayer next to ScreenCloud for a week and compare what each tells you about the same screens.
